Basic notions - How to take a guitar

If the performer is right-handed he will take the neck with his left hand and pluck the strings with his right. If he is left handed it will do the reverse, but you must also change the order of the strings, because the guitar will be reversed.

As for the posture to hold the instrument, the guitar can be performed sitting or standing.

Sentado

If he plays seated he will support the body on the left thigh (if he is left-handed on the right) and can use a bench of 15 or 20 cm for convenience. The neck should be at shoulder height left (or right if left handed).

De pie

Doing stand can use a strap that crosses on the shoulders, one end is tied in the bottom of the box, and the other at the top where it attaches to the neck.

But most used is a strap slimmer, (usually a lace) that hangs from the neck of performer. One end has a kind of buckle that fits over the middle part of the strap, forming a loop adjustable, and leaving a tail which terminates in a hook. Then he runs behind the guitar body, and attaches ahead in the bottom of the guitar hole.
